One-stop app set to connect patients, Hry govt hospitals
Gurgaon: Haryana will launch a mobile app this week to connect patients to all government hospitals across the state. The system will eliminate the need for patients to carry their complete file to the hospital each time they visit a doctor as it will maintain a database of their medical history, said officials.

Patients can download the Swasth Haryana app on both Google Playstore or Apple store and register their details. No ID is required to show proof of residence. They can upload their health records, prescriptions and X-ray reports and then book appointments with doctors, including orthopaedic specialists, otolaryngologists (ENT), surgeons, psychologists, paediatricians and others. While the app will not provide tele-consultancy, it is expected to assist in advance registration and booking appointments.

The app will also direct patients to services like booking a test, placing requests for blood, guidance searching for the nearest hospital and tracking bed availability. Pathology reports will also be available for registered patients.

Also, after getting their test reports through this app, patients have the option of getting e-consultancy on the e-sanjeevani app, which can save them time and energy.

The app will also provide guidance on donating blood, adolescents’ menstrual hygiene, pregnancy, and care and immunisations for newborns. While the app is free, patients will have to pay for services like diagnostic tests and procedures. The charges for tests will be available on the app.

Pre-registration on the app is set to cut waiting time for patients. “We have already set up counters at all government hospitals for people who are pre-registered on the app so that they are not asked to stand in a queue. They can just collect the card and go directly to the doctor,” said Dr Virender Yadav, chief medical officer, Gurgaon.

Health officials said the service was aimed at ensuring patients get appointments with specialists easily. It would be especially helpful for people with comorbidities and pregnant women, they added.

Initially, the app will cater to 22 civil hospitals and 15 sub-divisional hospitals in Haryana and eventually, it will connect patients to more than 400 government hospitals across the state.
