Metropolis launches Diversity, Equity & Inclusion initiative ‘The Full Circle – Career 2.0 for Women’

Mumbai: Metropolis Healthcare Limited announced the launch of its Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DE&I) initiative ‘The Full Circle – Career 2.0 for Women’. This all-new initiative aims to help those women who have taken a break from their careers and are now looking forward to restarting them. The overarching goal of this initiative for Metropolis is to increase the size of women’s talent pool and to remove the taboo of taking breaks for being just a caregiver in society.

This programme is open to applicants across the country for various roles such as pathologists, doctors, technicians, HR, marketing, sales and a few others. The differentiating factor of this DE&I initiative in the industry is the provision of flexible work options such as work-from-home (WFH), hybrid, part-time, full-time, hourly or project basis, which will enable the women professionals to balance their personal and professional responsibilities comfortably. Candidates from any work background are encouraged to apply for this programme, wherein Metropolis will assess their individual qualifications and match them with suitable job openings within the company based on their availability and requirements. The pilot launch of this initiative has already garnered a positive response from candidates and the company has received around 50 applications to date.

Ameera Shah, Promoter & Managing Director, Metropolis Healthcare Limited said, “We have a strong commitment towards Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, which is one of our key focus areas under the broader ESG agenda. In this direction, we are working on building a strategic and robust gender diversity and capacity-building plan, that can help us in achieving a ’50-50’ gender balance at all levels of the company in the next three years. The launch of this initiative designed for women will not only benefit them at an individual level but also the organisation as a whole by increasing the diversity of perspectives and experiences within the workforce. This will further help to advance greater representation of women in leadership positions and various other roles within the company.”

Commenting about the programme, Ishita Anand Medhekar, Chief Human Resource Officer, Metropolis Healthcare Limited said, “I believe that this programme will support the women professionals with various career opportunities and help in regaining confidence in them. We are extremely keen to welcome skilled and passionate women who could drive the organisation forward with their efforts and dedication.”

The DE&I programme will constantly find new ways to evolve with multiple innovative initiatives and support the diverse talent in the industry. The ‘Full Circle – Career 2.0 for Women’ will provide the women candidates with the right training, mentorship, and networking opportunities to help them acquire the skills and experience they need to succeed in their chosen field. This, in turn, will not only help to bridge the gender gap in the healthcare industry but also contribute to a more inclusive and equitable society. The impact of such initiatives goes beyond just providing a platform for women to succeed in their careers. By promoting gender diversity in the industry, these initiatives also help to break down gender stereotypes and promote a culture of inclusivity and acceptance. This can have a ripple effect on society, encouraging more women to enter male-dominated fields, and inspiring young girls to dream big and pursue their passions regardless of societal expectations or gender norms.
