Lupin launches Lurasidone Hydrochloride tablets in the US

Mumbai: Pharmaceutical company Lupin on Tuesday announced the launch of Lurasidone Hydrochloride Tablets, 20 mg, 40 mg, 60 mg, 80 mg, and 120 mg, to market a generic equivalent of Latuda Tablets of Sunovion Pharmaceuticals, Inc.

Lurasidone is used to treat the symptoms of schizophrenia (a mental illness that causes disturbed or unusual thinking, loss of interest in life, and strong or inappropriate emotions) in adults and children 13 years of age and older.

According to IQVIA MAT December 2022, Lurasidone Hydrochloride Tablets (RLD Latuda) had estimated annual sales of USD 4.2 billion in the US.
