Indore: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Indore has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Education and Ministry of Innovation and Technology, Ethiopia to promote bilateral cooperation with Ethiopian Universities.
As part of the MoU, 46 universities in Ethiopia will become partner institutes and work together to promote various academic and research programs. A joint multidisciplinary international quality improvement PhD program will also be designed under the MoU.
The MoU was signed by Professor Suhas S. Joshi, Director, IIT Indore and Dr Bayissa Badada Badassa, state minister, Ministry of Innovation and Technology, Ethiopia.
IIT-I said students and faculty exchange programmes will be conducted under the joint multidisciplinary international quality improvement PhD programme.
Professor Suhas S. Joshi, Director, IIT Indore said, “The collaboration with the Ethiopian universities under Ministry of Education and Ministry of Innovation and Technology will help in collaborative research.”
Joshi also emphasized the importance of successful collaboration with the Ethiopian universities and briefed about the academic programs, research areas, facilities and vision for the internationalization of the IIT Indore.
Dr Leta Tesfaye Jule, Member of Parliament, president of Dambi Dollo University, Professor Krishnaraj Ramaswamy, principal scientific advisor, Ministry of innovation and technology, Ethiopia and Professor Avinash Sonawane, Dean, International Relations at IIT Indore were present on the occasion.
