IIM Raipur signs MoU with Digital Health Academy to start first of its kind online CDHP course

Raipur: The Indian Institute of Management Raipur signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Digital Health Academy to start the first-of-its-kind Certified Digital Health Professional (CDHP) course. The year-long course will be completely online specifically designed for healthcare and management professionals.

The CDHP course is designed for physicians, allied healthcare professionals, and professionals in healthcare administration and life sciences. The aim of this course is to enhance the competence level with regard to the use of digital tools across the continuum of care.

Digitalization of healthcare is the next big thing in the healthcare industry. One major challenge remains the training of clinicians, paramedics, and support staff in digital health.

These professionals are in full-time jobs with no possibility of upskilling in terms of digital literacy; hence the one-year, self-paced course will give them an opportunity to learn from the experience of the global leaders on the latest digital advancement in healthcare.

Through CDHP course, Digital Health Academy wants to bridge the gap between the healthcare professional and application- oriented Digital Health. Segregated into three levels: Basic, Advanced and Professional. The course will cover the theoretical and practical implementation of digital health technologies.

Apart from getting access to many offerings from the digital health ecosystem, at Digital Health Academy, the students will be entitled to join the global alumni of health professionals and become a part of the impact-full Digital Health Professionals network across the globe.

Digital Health Academy was founded by Dr Rajendra Pratap Gupta, who is amongst the top policymakers and the person behind many path-breaking reforms in the National Education Policy 2020. He is also the chairman of the Dynamic Coalition on Digital Health at the Internet Governance Forum, United Nations.

Ideated in 2020 by Digital Health Academy, CDHP is the result of two years of research, brainstorming, and extensive consultation with around 54 global leaders. The academy will have the world’s foremost leaders and pioneers as faculty.

IIM Raipur director Dr Ram Kumar Kakani said, ‘I am excited at the prospect of IIM-Raipur joining hands with the Digital Health Academy for offering courses in Digital Health. This is a great opportunity for us to have our presence and contribute. Digital Health is the future of healthcare, and this association with Digital Health Academy will be our entry into providing courses globally’.

Dr Gupta said ‘Under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, India has become a world leader in Digital Health, and we will need to be a global leader for capacity building in Digital Health to achieve the vision set by the Prime Minister, and Digital Health Academy aims to become the world’s foremost institution in preparing the leaders for Digital Health. This association with IIM- Raipur aligns with the vision set forth in the NEP 2020 and we are truly excited about this association. In 2023, the academy will launch more programs in Digital Health’.

Registration for the course will start shortly and the course will go live over the next few weeks. For details, you can visit https://www.digitalacademy.health/.
